Detailed look at the curriculum

I recently brought the BUILD entrepreneurship curriculum to my high school, and overall, it's been a very positive experience. The ordering process for the school site license was straightforward on their website, though it took a few emails to get all our specific district's procurement questions answered. Delivery of the digital tools was immediate, and the physical project-based learning kits arrived within about 10 business days. The content itself is well-structured, easy for teachers to follow, and engaging for students. I particularly appreciated the detailed lesson plans and the built-in assessments. The student mentorship program was a big draw for us, and the volunteer matching was efficient. One minor point: some of the online resources could use a clearer navigation, but once you find what you need, the quality is there. Our students have already started developing their business ideas, which is exciting to see.

Consistent impact, great support

We've renewed our school site license with BUILD for the third year now, and the experience remains consistently excellent. The curriculum updates are always relevant, and the support staff is quick to answer any questions. Our students really benefit from the mentorship programs. It's why we keep coming back.

Excellent value for our school

As a first-time user, I was looking for the best value to implement an entrepreneurship program at my school. BUILD's school site license, especially considering the comprehensive curriculum and student mentorship components, felt like a really worthwhile investment. We also qualified for a non-profit discount, which made it even more accessible. The process was smooth, and I felt like we got a lot for our money. Definitely a practical choice for budget-conscious schools.

Good program, some minor points

We integrated the BUILD career readiness modules and generally found them to be very effective. The content is relevant for our students, and the digital tools are quite good. The initial setup for the school site license went smoothly, and their team was responsive to our questions. Delivery of the supplementary classroom resource guides was on time. My only minor critique is that some of the online training videos for educators felt a little rushed, and could benefit from being broken into smaller, more digestible segments. Overall though, it's a solid program providing good value for the cost.

Amazing program for students!

We just implemented the BUILD program at our school, and it's been fantastic! The students are so engaged with the real-world business experience. The curriculum is easy to use, and the workshops for our teachers were super helpful. Our kids are already pitching their ideas. We will definitely be continuing this program next year! Highly recommend it to any school looking to inspire their students.

How does BUILD compare to Junior Achievement? Trying to pick the best program for our high schoolers.

L Laura 2 months ago
From what I hear, BUILD is really hands-on with actually starting and running a business, whereas JA is a bit more classroom-based. Both good, but different vibes.

I think BUILD focuses a lot on real-world business ventures and mentorship. JA is great too, but maybe less direct entrepreneurial experience for the students themselves, more general financial literacy stuff afaik.

Hey, wondering if I can get some kind of discount for my school if it's a Title I school? Budget's super tight.

T Todd V. 2 months ago
Yeah, they definitely work with Title I schools. I think they have specific programs or grants for them to make it more accessible.

They don't do 'discounts' like a regular store, but for sure check about grants or subsidized access. My friend's school got their program covered that way last year.
